Torben's Rise to his First Invictus Games

Torben Louwen-Skovdam joined our program back in August of 2024 where he was already involved in Invictus Game Camps leading up to the 2025 Vancouver games. He first tried wheelchair basketball at the camp located at AIS then he reached out to us when he got back to Townsville. He started training harder and harder with the games getting closer all different news platforms approached Torben including WIN, 7News, Townsville Bulletin all wanted to get his thoughts on the sports, the games, and the importance of it all.

Whilst we are proud of Torben's determination and selection for the camp even being named the captain for the Australian Wheelchair Basketball team going over. We are even more amazed and grateful that he shared this with us, whilst also communicating the importance of mental health in sports.

We will update with the results of each game and Torben's other sports he is participating on which is indoor rowing, swimming and Nordic Biathlon.
